Opel Mokka 5dr

First registered in 1979, this Opel Manta 2.0 SR Berlinetta is a particularly rare example, being one of just 200 examples produced in the desirable Silver 2 special edition specification. Finished in Astro Silver, the car perfectly captures the sharp, understated sporting style that made the Manta such a success for Opel during the late 1970s. Power comes from the well-regarded 2.0-litre CIH engine, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox conversion, offering a more relaxed driving experience and improved usability on modern roads. The CIH unit is widely respected for its durability and smooth delivery, providing the Manta with strong, usable performance that suits the car’s sporting character. The exterior presents very well, with clean body lines and excellent overall presence. Period ATS alloy wheels sit neatly within the arches and complement the Silver 2 specification perfectly. The car also retains its factory fitted steel sunroof along with the correct vinyl roof, both of which remain in very good condition and further enhance the distinctive late-1970s appearance. Inside, the cabin is finished in the correct and highly attractive blue velour trim, a signature feature of the Berlinetta specification. The seats, door cards and interior trim all present very well and provide a striking contrast against the Astro Silver exterior, giving the car a wonderfully period feel throughout the cabin. This Manta is supplied with its original bill of sale along with a substantial history file of invoices and paperwork, both historic and more recent, documenting the car’s maintenance and care over the years. Showing approximately 83,000 miles, this rare Opel Manta 2.0 SR Berlinetta Silver 2 represents an increasingly collectible example of Opel’s iconic sporting coupé. With its limited production numbers, desirable specification and strong presentation throughout, it offers an appealing opportunity for enthusiasts seeking a usable and characterful classic. This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2026 on Saturday the 14th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Estimated price: GBP 80,000 - GBP 100,000. The Opel Manta 400 is almost a hidden gem survivor of the extraordinary Group B era, a period when manufacturers were required to build road-going versions of their competition machinery and consequently produced some of the most exciting and distinctive performance cars of the 1980s. Developed from the Ascona 400, the Manta was intended to take on the world's rally stages with rear wheel drive, a Cosworth developed 2.4-litre engine, lightweight construction and dramatic flared bodywork. By the time Opel's new weapon was ready to compete, however, Audi's Quattro had already demonstrated the advantages of four-wheel drive and the Manta was fighting against the inevitable tide of technological progress. The Manta 400 proved immensely popular with spectators and competitors alike, its evocative soundtrack, rear wheel drive chassis and unmistakable silhouette making it a firm favourite on British and European stages. In the UK, the Andrews Heat for Hire car of Russell Brookes with Mike Broad remains particularly fondly remembered, helping to cement the Manta's status as one of the great Group B era icons. With just 245 examples produced, the Manta 400 was an exceptionally rare road car even when new, and this particular example has been in the same ownership since 2009. Soon after acquisition, the decision was made to undertake a comprehensive bare shell restoration, with the car being fully stripped before being entrusted to renowned specialists, Retropower. The shell was sandblasted and small number of rust patches were dealt with before a factory specification right-hand drive conversion was carried out. The underside subsequently received a hot zinc coating, seam sealing and Upol Raptor underseal, providing a solid foundation for the restoration. The shell and all panels were then repainted in their original Polar White colour, with the factory door stripes painted rather than reproduced as decals. A works dealer team style bonnet was also fitted, while the running gear and associated components were taken back to bare metal and refinished. The suspension was renewed with Bilstein shock absorbers and corresponding springs, alongside new bushes throughout, with new fuel and brake lines completing the mechanical restoration. A handful of sympathetic improvements were also incorporated, all very much in keeping with the car's competition heritage. An alloy radiator, engine oil cooler and stainless-steel exhaust have been fitted, while the wheel specification has been altered to mirror the works rally cars with wider 10-inch rear wheels and lower offset 8-inch fronts. The wheels have been painted rather than powder coated to retain a more authentic appearance. Now, 18 years into the same ownership and presenting to an exceptional standard, this Manta 400 combines the rarity and unmistakable character of one of Opel’s most significant performance cars with a comprehensive, professionally executed restoration. Adding an entertaining piece of provenance, the inside of the boot lid has also been signed by legendary British rally driver Jimmy McRae after he encountered the car at a local show.

The Opel Monza was launched in 1978 and as far of the UK is concerned, it helped transform the image of its maker almost overnight - all of a sudden, it was an expensive and desirable coupe that went as well as it looked. Based on the Opel Senator, this full-sized 1978-86 Autobahnstormer was a good looking and well equipped three-door coupe which proved agile despite its bulk. In its top-of-the-range 3.0 litre injected form, the Monza offered dramatic straight line ability, 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 133mph. In 1982, the range was facelifted, and the GSE with Recaro seats, digital instrumentation and a prominent rear spoiler was introduced in the UK. This became a bit of a cult car helped in no part by Vauxhall dropping its slightly staider Royale Coupe from the line-up and rebranding its saloon as the Senator which meant for a short while, dealers sold the Opel Monza alongside the Vauxhall Senator.

Opel Corsa LHD 1.4 Petrol 5 Door

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2026 on Saturday the 14th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Estimated price: GBP 40,000 - GBP 50,000. The Opel Omega 3.0 24V Evolution 500 was a high-performance ‘homologation special’ built between 1991 and 1993 by Opel in partnership with German car tuning and engineering company, Irmscher, to qualify for the German DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) racing series and compete against the BMW M3 Sport Evolution and Mercedes-Benz 190E Cosworth 2.3-16/2.5-16. While 500 units were required to meet DTM Group A regulations, it’s believed that only around 330 were actually completed. All official road-going units were left-hand drive and originally destined for the German market, making them rarer than the legendary Lotus Omega. Officially, they were only sold in a single colour, Nova Black metallic, and featured a prominent, DTM-style bodykit with an automatically extending front splitter and rear spoiler. At speed, the rear wing would lift, and the front lip extended downwards to drastically improve high-speed downforce. The car sat on wide 18-inch 10-spoke Irmscher alloy wheels tucked under subtly widened, squared-off wheel arches designed to clear massive racing rubber on the DTM circuits. The road car was based on the standard Omega 3000 24V but heavily re-engineered by Irmscher with high-strength, lightweight internals and featured a new forged crank with eight rather than twelve counterweights so reciprocating masses were kept very low to allow race engine to rev close to 10,000rpm. Conrods and pistons were also modified making the standard engine very special, even receiving a different engine code. Output from the road-going car was 227bhp and 207lb-feet, however, the full race cars produced in excess of 400bhp. The Omegas were prepared for the DTM race series by Irmscher with drivers Strycek, Engstler, Schmickler, and Haider with the Eggenberger-entered cars driven by Niedzwiedz and Ferte. The Volker Strycek Omega finished fourth and sixth at the 1992 and 1993 Nurburgring 24hrs beaten only by Porsche. It's estimated that only around 130 remain and offered here is a true survivor that managed to escape any competition use. Very well presented, it appears remarkably original, probably helped by the fact that it spent a period of time in a private collection in Portugal. A super rare and overlooked homologation special that helped define the most evocative Touring Car Championship of all, at a very inviting guide. Please note that import duty at 5% will be payable if the vehicle remains in the UK.
